Preparatory

Hello!

As a school, we prepare learners for the future by facilitating classroom environments that encourage them to be thinkers and developing future-focused skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. We do this by encouraging and fostering a deep curiosity and creativity in how we learn. We work hard to create a nurturing environment that builds our learners’ confidence while developing and strengthening their Godgiven abilities. Our educators exemplify what it means to be life-long learners, receiving ongoing development and exploring new ways to equip our learners for an ever-changing, unpredictable world.

Hello!

King’s has an active and varied extramural curriculum that caters to various abilities and talents. We have a strong sense of school spirit fostered through our sporting excellence and cultural expressions. Our school’s mandate is to raise and release Godlý leaders, which we pursued intentionally through our Life Orientation (LO) and Bible Literacy curriculums in collaboration with the King’s Leadership Academy (KLA). Our children are encouraged to be involved in the process, which creates a sense of community and belonging. We have designated events throughout the year where we expose our learners to leadership development, allowing them to flourish in leadership roles within the school. We also aim to foster a sense of social responsibility, engaging and creating outreach programmes to support and serve our city and communities.

As a school, we believe that learners are best prepared when educators and parents partner together in their development journey. We are grateful for the opportunity to team up with parents in setting up their children as responsible, confident and positive contributing members of society.

Learner Support

In Foundation Phase, we offer parallel teaching. There are learner support teachers who provide smaller parallel classes in Mathematics and English for those who need extra help consolidating foundational concepts.

In the Intermediate Phase, receive incredible support from additional educators trained in learner support, who take learners into smaller groups during lessons to consolidate concepts.

These support structures and parallel lessons form part of the Preparatory Learner Support Department, which oversees case management and accommodations and works closely with parents to achieve their child’s best progress and outcomes.

In addition, we offer independent on-site Speech, Occupational and Play Therapists for any learners who may require further support.
